Here are a few songs I have recorded with other people and written by other people:
Gone
by Chicken (Susan Moring to those of you who aren't me)
I'm Not the Bhagwan
an old Vicless Trio version of an even older Hierarch of Wants song
Alligator Bait
by the Simpkin Brothers
Now, I have been writing songs since 1984 or 1985. It was my sophomore year in college. Recording began in 1986 in the Oliver Powers Memorial Audio Suite in the J school at the University of Oklahoma. Recordings from this time have been banned by the FCC because they tend to hurt people's ears.
In 1987 I moved to Tulsa and went to work at Irving Productions. Although it was and is a voice-over studio, I recorded a fair amount of my music there in my off hours. The Bhagwan song above is one of those recordings. Otherwise, those recordings are mostly shut tightly away in dark places and reside only on aging Ampex 456 analog tape.
Between 1996 and 2000 I had my first home computer based recording setup. Few of those recordings survive since they were archived on DATs and my DAT machine got archived in the dumpster one day.
In late 2000 I purchased my first Pro Tools system and began recording the music that is represented on this website. Around 2005 I upgraded the Pro Tools system, and that is still the active system.
My current studio, called Number 20, is in Enid, and is still in the process of being treated acoustically. The desk, known affectionately as Fi Fidelity 500 (named after an old nameplate found in the alley behind my place in Tecumseh), has resided now at four locations.
